Colombian SuSu bags – Bringing a little bit of Colombia to the UK!
We are on a mission! We would like to introduce to you our new ‘Project World’. The aim is to bring you FASHION FROM AROUND THE WORLD. Each of our Project World posts will explore a different country. We will look at different: styles, colours, fabrics, designs, etc. Each country has it’s own fashion and it’s own beauty. We are interested to see how these countries have influenced the fashion world and we are excited to share our findings with you!
To start with we are going to look at Colombia…
Colombia have gorgeous handicrafts made by indigenous communities, including the Wayuu, Kuna and Putumayo tribes. We love the bright happy colours they use that have brightened up fashion shows around the world. We are going to look at some gorgeous and practical bags that you can get your hands on in the UK, these bags are called SuSu Bags…
The Colombian SuSu bags are handwoven by the local women from the Wayuu tribe of Colombia and takes about 15 days to craft. Each bag is completely unique in its colour and pattern design. They take a long time to make but with a little love they last forever!
The Lisa bag is defined by the multi coloured weave in the strap with a solid colour in the body. There’s only one available in hot pink, so you’ll feel fabulously individual sporting yours!
If you don’t fancy pink, you can get your hands on a SuSu Lisa Bag in mustard yellow or in chilli rust below…
The Doble bag is defined by the multi coloured weave in the body of the bag using 4 or 5 colours.
